Still nothing from my last two submissions to Agents, is that a good sign? I doubt it, they have probably binned the draft instead of sending it back in my SAE. Well, chin up as I need to send off some more packs tomorrow to more Agents, I will not get anywhere if I give up now.
The novel is complete end to end but I still feel there is a lot of detail and some characters that need to be brought to life more. Every day I think of further pieces to add to the puzzle. However I need to resist the temptation to tinker too much as it can be a never ending circle. Well, on with the work!

23rd November 2010

Yesterday was a momentous day in terms of my possible writing career. I sent off two packages, each one to a literary agent. This is the third submission of my draft novel to an agent in the past two weeks. The trouble is I still feel that the novel is not good enough and am already anticipating the first of many letters of rejection (or even just my sample chapters being returned and nothing else!). I know this is a big part of how things will be for a while. There is so much I still want to do with my novel but sometimes I feel like I am going around in circles and that I need some professional guidance and so the process of trying to find an agent has begun.
When I read sections of my book I realise how much of the story has changed over the past few months since I have been able to get some time on it. It is always such a small amount of time I can spare but I love it when I do have the chance to write. My next task is to revisit some of the early chapters and make amends to the story there and then I feel that I need to improve some of the final parts of the story.
Onwards and upwards!

Some idea's have come to fruition and the book has progressed. Have been looking online at Agents and Publishers websites. 4 out of 5 publishers don't accept unsolicited manuscripts, I need an Agent! Oh where to begin? Apparently there is a good book with all the information I need, it is on its way from Amazon.co.uk

Have got a case of writers block. Some ideas coming but can't seem to find a way to get them on the page. Hoping the new week will bring me better luck.

The first draft of the novel is complete. Now I am back to the first chapter for the first time in a long time. Just a brief read and already I have a mind full of changes I want to make. Second draft is underway!
